Writer’s Oracle Pre-Workshop Activities:

Before you attend the workshop, we are going to have some brain-warming activities to flex our creative muscles.  You are that incredible and you can do this.  (Click here to download worksheet for easier use.)

Activity 1: Brainstorm 3 to 5 ideas you’ve been thinking about in regards to the book you’d like to write.  The idea could be fleeting or it could be one that has plagued you for months or even years.  For example, one client thought of writing a short story collection, an inspiration book filled with quotes, and a “how to book”.

Idea 1: ______________________________________________________________

Idea 2: ______________________________________________________________

Idea 3: ______________________________________________________________

Idea 4: ______________________________________________________________

Idea 5: ______________________________________________________________

Activity 2:  Design your book cover!

Take a look at Activity 1 and find which one speaks to you the loudest.  Then, if your book was published, what would the cover look like?  Step into the arena of fearlessness and draw/paint/photoshop/etc what your book would look like.  Sometimes it’s hard to get a solid grasp on what our covers would look like.  Why not look to some books that have already been published and use that as a source of inspiration?

I look forward to seeing you in class and get you started on your book journey!
