Your Business Objective: Remain Focused

Day 25: 78 DayTriple Dog DareChallenge (8)

Positive Affirmation

I am productive in all that I do.

Theme of the Day

It’s easy to get swept way with the new shiny objects, but the objective is to remain focused.

Welcome to Day 25 of the challenge.  If you’re jumping in right now, be sure to check out the Welcome to the Triple Dog Dare to get started.  The previous days are listed at the bottom of each post with a hyperlink.

Owning a business is quite difficult at times due to the shiny objects along the way. There are Facebook ads promising 10K Instagram followers, or a FREE download in exchange for your email information.  The internet is littered with many people hawking their wares.  As a business owner, it’s tempting to want to sign up for everything. I mean after all, you want to support other small businesses as well.

Knight of Cups

Right? Wrong. Very wrong.

This is why it’s important to know your mission and to stay true to your vision.  This is the only way to stay productive.  The Knight of Cups reminds you that your time is not infinite and in order to have a successful business, it’s important to be as productive as you can.  There are products to create, personalized cards to write, meetings to attend, relationships to build and more….

Stay focused, go after your dreams and keep moving towards your goals. — LL Cool J

Let it be known that if you see something of interest but it’s not in alignment with your business goals and focus, but you know of a friend or a fellow business owner who would benefit, then by all means share the information with them.  Sharing is caring.

Truth Time: Many years ago, I fell into the shiny object trap and it cost me a lot of time and money.  The time I spent reading and downloading information that had nothing to do with my business ate into my profit. As a result,my business suffered.  I ended up closing shop until I could get my head on right about the mission of my business was.

Failure is a part of life, but if it’s something that could have been prevented by keeping your eye on the prize, then that failure was self-imposed.  Life is hard, but it’s rather silly when one tries to make it harder by way of poor choices.  The Knight of Cups reminds that your objective is to remain focused.

You have ONE Triple Dog Dare Challenge today.  Read the challenges and close your eyes to connect with what the challenge is asking of you.  Allow yourself to walk through the experience and be sure to capture as much as you can with your words as well as intent.

Triple Dog Dare Challenge #1: Get solid on your mission statement and write it out.  Once you have done that, print out your mission statement and post it in a very visible spot so when you see a shiny object, you can do a quick spot check to see if you’re being distracted or not.
