Welcome to Day 12 of the challenge. If you’re jumping in right now, be sure to check out the Welcome to the Triple Dog Dare to get started. The previous days are listed at the bottom of each post with a hyperlink.
I will find a healthy balance between work and my life so I can remain sharp.
Theme of the Day
It’s all about finding balance in our lives so we can live life to it’s fullest.
When I was the Managing Director for the eWomenNetwork Kansas City Chapter, there would be entrepreneurs I’d meet that were all work and no play. The unbalanced group of women was small, but it was enough to make me a bit concerned. I expressed my concerns and suggested that they create some time for themselves. Some of the women listened and took time to recharge, while others turned a deaf ear.
There is a fine balance between honoring the past and losing yourself in it. For example, you can acknowledge and learn from mistakes you made, and then move on and refocus on the now. It’s called forgiving yourself. -Eckhart Tolle
The women who took the time to recharge their soul batteries, they came back refreshed. The new sense of self allowed them to reach all of the business goals they’ve set for themselves. The women who refused to take time for themselves ended up with health issues, their business suffered due to careless mistakes due to mix-ups in their schedules and missed messages.
Focus on being balanced – success is balance. -Laila Ali
Justice shows up in your life when it’s important to see a balance between work and play. While it’s important to work on as well as in your business, it’s equally as important to allow time to rest. When you rest, you allow your entire life — mind, body, and spirit — to recharge. During that time of rest, you’re able to melt away the clutter and stress in your life which allows you to see what remained hidden during that time.
Many people report finding the best ideas for their business when they’ve taken a short staycation or vacation. There’s something to be said for changing the scenery, meeting new people, exploring new places, and trying new food.
You have to find balance. Whenever I start feeling stressed or not feeling myself, it’s about balance, and it means I need to find it again. – Bernard Sumner
You have TWO Triple Dog Dare Challenges today. Read the challenges and close your eyes to connect with what the challenge is asking of you. Allow yourself to walk through the experience and be sure to capture as much as you can with your words as well as intent.
Triple Dog Dare Challenge #1: Get out your planner and place it in front of you. Schedule some time each day to focus on you and your well-being. The length depends on you.
Triple Dog Dare Challenge #2: Is your work/life well balanced? Not sure, take a look at your schedule. Write down how many hours you spend working, write how many hours you devote to your family, write how many hours you spend giving to your community, and then write how many hours you spend for yourself. This will give you a clearer idea as to where your time is spent and determine if you need to carve out more time for yourself.
Once you’ve completed your Triple Dog Dare Challenge, celebrate that! Invite you to step out of your comfort zone and share with us in the comments below so we can celebrate with you.
