How to Grow Your Tribe so Your Business Can Thrive

Once upon a time in the distant past, small businesses, coaches, speakers, C-Level executives needed a good book or a product and the floodgates of clients would open, but this is no longer the case.

We are going to use authors as our example today, but feel free to change out the word ‘authors’ for your business.

Traditional publishers want authors to already have a strong audience base for their material before they will accept your work.  At the end of the day, it’s about how many books can be sold and what the revenue looks like.

What if you’re not wanting to go the traditional route and you opt to self-publish?  This applies to self-publishing as well because without an audience, the author is looking at some pretty grim statistics in terms of revenue and returning readers.

Authors make the mistake of writing their book first and then reaching out to the audience.  So what is an author to do?

It’s straightforward.  The most successful way to increase your book sales is to connect with people OFFLINE as well as ONLINE.  It’s been my experience to hear the following statements from my clients :

“What do you mean I have to come out from behind my computer and meet my tribe?”


“What do you mean I have to go online to meet some potential fans?”

It is essential for YOUR financial bottom line to mix up your methods of reaching out to your potential as well as your current fans OFFLINE as well as ONLINE, so they have a way to have access to you.

So today, I’d like for you to take some time and get yourself mentally prepared to step out of your comfort zone.  Go out and connect with at least 7 new people each day.
