Positive Affirmation of the Day:
There is great pleasure in giving little gifts to the people I connect with in my life.
Central Theme of Your Writing Piece for the Day:
“Little gifts” does not have to be a tangible object. There are many ways in which “little gifts” can take form such as time, advice, attention, love, hugs, a smile, or some other meaningful action.
What are some ways you can impart a “little gift” to another person you meet or to a person that reads your creative work?
A Personal Experience –
Something stirred deep within my soul. A yearning. A desire to make a significant impact in this world. I did not know what to do. I just knew that I needed to do something. When I turned to my spiritual teacher — a very close and personal friend as well as the person who helped me develop a relationship with my spirit guide — and expressed my desire.
He looked at me with his pale blue eyes and said, “You can make a big difference with small steps. All you need to do is step into the direction you want to go in and you’re on your way.”
To this day, I hold this advice close to my heart. Whenever I feel as if I should make a HUGE difference, I am sure to take small steps in that direction so it does happen.
When I feel the desire stirring within me to make a difference in the community around me, I am sure to pay attention to each student that comes through my classroom. It is through my gift of loving what I do — teaching — each day that resonates with my students.
They in turn make a difference in the lives they’ve touched.
The ripple effect is a great thing. It’s the little waves that make the biggest difference.
You have two writing challenges for your intuitive connection journal today. Read the challenges and close your eyes to connect with that snippet of time. Allow yourself to walk through the experience and be sure to capture as much as you can with your words.
Action Challenge #1: Close your eyes and connect with your spirit. Ask your spirit to guide you as to what is the appropriate “little gift” to bestow on someone in your life. If you want to be more specific, ask your spirit guide, “What is the written message I need to share with others?” or “What is my gift to the those around me?”
Once you have asked the question or questions, allow yourself to be open to receive the message. It may come when you least expect it.
Action Challenge #2: Make a commitment with yourself that you will do one small act of kindness each day for an entire month. One of my favorite craft display that allows you to make a gift to yourself in the form of Random Acts Of Kindness is by Coffee Cups and Crayons.
Once you’ve completed your writing challenge, set it aside. After some days have passed, return to your work and see how you can incorporate some of what you have written into your current book.
