Oracle of the Day: You and ONLY You.
Positive Affirmation of the Day:
My intuition guides me towards my successes with my group of friends.
Central Theme of Your Writing Piece for the Day:
You are entering a sociable period where you come out on top. Connect with your spirit and allow your intuition to guide you during this time.
A Personal Experience –
The transition from high school to adulthood has been an interesting one. As a child all I had to do was walk out the front door and there were kids to connect with. I always had someone to play with on the playground. Heck, we all played outside after the streetlights came on.
Better to ask for forgiveness than permission.
The circle of friends grew smaller as I transitioned into high school and college. Interests became more defined. My friends went off to be in serious relationships or internships. When I had my first kiddo in college, 80% of my friends dropped off the scene as they didn’t want to drink from the same well as me in fear of getting in the same “predicament” I was in.
As much as it sucked, I understood.
Connecting with other moms proved to be difficult as our kiddos had different interests. Now, children’s lives revolved around sports, music lessons, ballet, art, voice lessons, foreign language tutoring — all before the age of four. I’m slightly different — I believe in the art of one or two extracurricular activities with lots of time for exploring the world.
This applies to adults as well. We have our careers, faith events, families, etc. Focus only on the important parts. I’ve met parents who had nothing left to give because they overextended themselves. When this happens, it’s time to step aside and focus on you and ONLY you.
I realize that a season for everything exists. Sometimes on the journey, friends and interaction with other people will be scarce, and other times it will be plentiful. I try to appreciate the balance.
My life gets busy with children, work, and helping people brainstorm ideas for their book. I do miss hanging out with my friends. What I have found is that creating a scheduled time to meet at a fun place for the kids has worked well for me. My friends will invite me over to their house, but that’s a whole other ballgame for me.
Here is why:
Sometimes meeting with people will drain the energy out of me — even though I enjoy their company. Once I went to a friend’s house and it was a historic home. She had three strong spirits in the home that tried to communicate with me. It was distracting as I wanted to interact with the living. What I’ve learned to do is to protect my energies that surround me and do a mental cleansing when I leave the gathering.
My husband appreciates it as well because I don’t come home talking about the spirits I’ve seen, but talk about my actual interaction with the living. It’s quite refreshing!
The Three of Hearts | Seven of Clubs | Queen of Hearts combination indicate that an upswing among the social scene is imminent.
This is great news because it feels great to connect with other like-minded individuals. Connecting with folks on social media is one thing. Don’t get me wrong, it’s fine, but being in the same space as another individual is much different. You’re able to soak up the energy in the room and donate some of your energy as well. You are able to share stories and experiences. You grow as a spiritual being and you’re able to touch the lives of those you come in contact with. You can hear the laughter. You can physically interact.
So no matter what the social season is like for you, it’s all about you and ONLY you. You determine the tone and outcome of your scene. Connect with your intuition and allow your gut to be your inner compass.
If you want few friends, create that scene. If you want more friends, create that scene.
Writing Challenge #1: You have a childhood story — the one you like to share with others because it brings a smile to your face. What is that experience you like to share with others? What makes this experience so memorable? Write down the sights, the smells, the sounds, the feel, and the taste of that experience.
Writing Challenge #2: Describe a time when you were alone. Your social life was non-existent and you found yourself doing things by yourself. Did you enjoy this time? Why or why not? Were you alone out of choice or was it involuntary? Did you stay in this phase for long? How did you feel during this time? Why? Write your answers down in your journal.
Writing Challenge #3: You’re in a social season of your life. The invitations are pouring in faster than you know what to do with. Do you go to every single event? Do you choose? How do you make your decision? Write this experience down in your journal.
