Positive Affirmation of the Day:
I join myself in a positive partnership with my writing muse today.
Central theme of your writing piece for the day:
The Scared Union assures you that you’re not alone and the spirit is right next to you. Also, sometimes rather than partnering up with the spirit, you partner up with someone else that results in a romance.
I say — Let the sparks fly!
This morning, I woke up feeling really lonely. Do you ever have one of those days? In some ways, it felt as if I was a sad observer of the morning routine. My 4 year old gave me a squeeze and greeted me with a big kiss on my cheek.
My teenage son greeted me in the hallway with a festive “Good Morning” and gave me a teacher hug. You know the one where you stand kind of the side and wrap your arm around the shoulder. Yeah, that one.
Everyone went to school. The loneliness screamed at me. It was in my face. Rather than wallow in that feeling, I stepped into my affirmation of the day: I join myself in positive partnership with my writing muse today.
Lo and behold.
A surge of writing ideas flooded forth and I scrambled to write them all down. Granted, it’s a bunch of scribbles at the moment, but nonetheless — they are flippin’ amazing seeds that will flourish into full-fledged pieces.
Being lonely is normal, but the trick is distracting yourself so you don’t fall into a funk.

While it’s nice to have happy characters or mad characters, sometimes your characters will have bouts of loneliness. This is a time for them to plug into an activity or event that will snap them out of that state of mind.
Perhaps your character is so lonely that his/her mother secretly sets up an account on one of the online dating sites. This might result in a bit of a squabble, but at the end of everything — a new romance might just be on the horizon.
- What does your character do when s/he is lonely?
- Why is your character lonely?
- Could there be a potential romance for your character on the horizon? Why or why not?
- How does your character connect with the spirit to lift themselves out of their funk?
The following questions are just seeds to get your brain juiced up. If you want to expand from there, do it. This is your spirit talking to you and taking you on a creative journey.
After everything is done — see what you can use now or later.
I Dare You To Take Action Prompt:
Close your eyes and take in a deep breath. Hold it for a second or two before exhaling. Invite the spirit to bring forth the energy that surrounds The Sacred Union into your space. Open yourself up to the messages. Spend 30 minutes on this journey.
When you are finished be sure to write down any impressions you had with your spirit. Once you’re done, see what you can use for your current story and be sure to include it in.
