Positive Affirmation of the Day:

I connect with my inner child and bring joy to my present life.

Central theme of your writing piece for the day:

Six of Cups has some great things in store for YOU!  The bright yellow color radiates happiness.  Now is a time to revisit the happy moments of your past.  You might want to remember an old friend, memory, lover, relationship, and/or experience.  Allow your spirit to step into those happy moments.

The bigger person gives the smaller person some flowers, an indication the future gives the past a present.  So cool!

Writing Focus:

Allow yourself to visit the happy moments of your past.  When life gets tough, it’s nice to resurrect those fun times you shared with others and experienced.

Music is a great recorder of time and memories.  A song plays on the radio and you’re instantly transported to that EXACT moment in time and space.  Music heals.  Music transports.  One of my favorite stories on the impact and influence music has on a person is The Story of Henry – The iPod Project.

I don’t want to spoil the experience for you, so you’ll just get a quick snapshot.  Henry comes alive as he is transported back to the memory of his younger self.  His older self was able to sing and dance after listening to music.  How amazing is that!!??

The happy times of the past allows us to move freely towards the hard times in the future.

Over the past two years, I’ve been dealing with a loss of someone very close and dear to me.  Some days are better than others, but I realize that life does go on and we must make the best of a not so very good situation.  On most days, I am able to stay above the sadness and then something will remind me of the loss.

Oddly enough, I was cleaning out the storage space in my house — I don’t have much storage to begin with as I am a minimalist — and I came across a box filled with memories.  I stopped what I was doing and went through the pictures.  Right as I was about to cry, my teenage son came and joined me.  We talked about the fun times we had and my sadness was replaced with laughter. Then he took out his iPod and said, “We need some music and I have just the song.”

Six of cups is truly an indication that a blast from the past can bring peace. What helps many of us through the dark times are the memories of the bright times.

You To Take Action Prompt:

Take an hour for yourself and listen to some songs.  There are many free resources you can use to find music.  Pay attention to how those songs made you feel.  What song was playing when:

You had your first kiss?

Danced with someone for the first time?

Jumped off the balcony? **I hung out with some pretty daring kids in my youth.**

Learned how to drive?

Your first road trip?

YouTube has some great compilations/playlists compiled by other users.  I love stumbling upon these playlists because I don’t have to think about what to play next. It’s automatic.  A nice feature.  As the songs play, I’m taking a stroll down memory lane. It’s amazing at how many memories you go through during a single playlist.  Great stuff!

As you’re taking that stroll, write down snippets of what you’re feeling and remembering.  This will be great material for your future memoir or you may want to incorporate this into your novel.

I’d love to hear how this oracle has enhanced your writing.  Leave a comment and enrich the lives of our other readers.  Pay your experiences forward.
