Positive Affirmation of the Day:

An abundance of hope fills my spiritual cup.

Central theme of your writing piece for the day:

Page of Pentacles loves to study.  He is looking at the pentacle in his hands.  He’s looking at ONE pentacle in his hands.

Some questions to ponder:

Is there ONE aspect of a situation you need to look at?

Is there ONE scene you need to focus on?

Is there ONE idea you need to explore?

Writing Focus:

The muses have hit and you’re flooded with ideas!  You’re writing all of these scenes, characters, ideas, story lines, and more down on a sheet of paper.  They are coming fast and furious.  Times like this are FANTASTIC!  Times like this are EUPHORIC.  You feel a rush course through your veins as the ideas flow out of your brain.

After all, you think the next dry spell might be around the corner and you’re going to dip into a funk.  I wrote about my opinion on this in Sisters of the Seasons.

Keep the ideas flowing and writing them down, but take one of those ideas and flesh it out.  Focus on ONE idea and flesh that ONE idea out.

When you focus on ONE idea and bring it to completion, something really cool happens.  The Page of Pentacles brings the promise of hope and good luck.

A few years back, I met a writer who had many WIP’s (work-in-progress) and he was so stoked that he had 9 novels in the works.  Nine. I’ve met many writers who were working on several novels at the same time.  Heck, I’ve been guilty of doing this as well.  However, while you’re feeding the 9 novels at the same time, choose ONE of those projects that you’re going to FINISH.

Yep.  It’s hard.  I can see you writhing in your chair.  Your fingers fly to your mouth and you start chomping down on what used to be some semblance of a nail.

Quote for 10.29.2014

Find ONE project you know you can finish and get it DONE!

For example, let’s say Fred is working on a book about his experiences with the haunted house he lives in and he turned into a ghost hunter.  Currently, Fred has 9 books that he’s started – a couple of fiction novels, some short stories, and a memoir.  Over the past few months, he’s fed each book and kind of trudged along.  Fred is not any closer to getting published.

Current Score:  Published works = O        Unpublished works = 9

Page of Pentacles encourages Fred to focus on ONE project and finish it.  The Page loves to study a particular subject in depth and learn about practical things.  With The Page in his corner, Fred would be wise to utilize the energies given to him and share his work with other people.

A quick snapshot: Fred decides to work on his memoir on his experiences with the spirit world.  He goes out and gathers all the information needed to flesh out his project.  From time to time, he feeds his other projects, but the big kahuna at the time is his memoir.  Pretty soon, Fred is ready to publish his work.

New score:  Published works = 1        Unpublished works = 8

You To Take Action Prompt:

Write down a list of all of the projects you are currently working on.  Bare your soul onto the paper.  Leave no project undeclared.

If you want to use anything on here, please give credit where credit is due. :)

If you want to use anything on here, please give credit where credit is due. 🙂

Once you have done that, indicate which one you will focus on and FINISH.  Then move on to the next project.  The objective here is to become a master at that ONE project, just as the Page of Pentacles is a master of what he does because he studies one thing and is very diligent about it.
